HOW YOU CAN HELP WITH A DONATION to the Christian Drama School of New Jersey THE PURPOSE: The mission of the Christian Drama School of New Jersey is to bring the Word of God to life through drama, dance, and music so that students and staff enjoy growing together in faith and knowledge of Jesus Christ. Our goal is to continue our ministry that started in 2000. COST OF CLASSES AND HELPING OTHERS: Tuition is $210 for 12 weeks or $360 for 24 weeks. Several students are supported by generous donations. We currently do not receive enough tuition payments or donations to sustain the Christian Drama School. Rev. Kim and her assistants never, ever receive any pay. WE ARE VOLUNTEERS! We depend on volunteers and generous donations because each show costs between $11,000 and $35,000 to produce. All students receive a minimum of 12 hours of class plus 16 hours of rehearsal and performance experience per session. Senior Drama Class students with leading roles receive a maximum of 180 hours per session. Many of our families and graduates of CDS also generously support our beloved students in Uganda, Africa through the Heart for People Foundation. Drama School students also raise funds for schools we partner with in Uganda, Africa. We do a 24 Hour Charity Dance Marathon and Read to Roof every other year. Ask Rev. We give rental donations to the church where we hold classes. We have two home churches, the Presbyterian Church of Morris Plains and the Denville Community United Methodist Church. Our other expenses include Morris Knolls High School’s stage, truck rentals, publicity, Public Storage for thousands of costumes and props, school insurance, staging, lighting, construction, sound equipment, camera rentals, videos, and food for the cast.
